Atlantic Division
Forward: Jérémy Lamothe, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights
Lamothe (‘06/Becancour, Que.) put up four goals and five assists for nine points during his four games at the IHC Showcase, helping the Knights go 3-0-1-0 at the event. From Nov. 8-24, he put up 16 points in a nine-game scoring streak. Overall, this season, he has 23 points in 21 contests.
Defense: James Hope, Connecticut Jr. Rangers
The third-year Jr. Ranger Hope (‘04/Napiersville, Ill.) sent out five assists over the three games played by CJR at the Islanders Hockey Club Showcase plus a prior game on Nov. 19 against the Rockets Hockey Club, all CJR wins. He currently has 12 points in 16 games this year, and 39 points in 63 career games as a Jr. Ranger. That included lifting the 2024 USPHL Premier National Championship trophy.
Goaltender: Edouard Piche, Mercer Chiefs
Piche (‘05/St-Jerome, Que.) won both of his games last weekend and is on a 3-0 winning streak going into his next action. Piche stopped 69 of 74 shots over victories against Brooklyn and P.A.L., including a 36-of-37 performance against the Jr. Islanders on Nov. 24. With the wins, he improved to 5-5-0-0 on the season.
New England Division
Forward: Tyler Lokker, Utica Jr. Comets
Lokker (‘07/Utica, N.Y.) put up a 3-5-8 line as the Jr. Comets went 3-1-0-0 at the Islanders Hockey Club Showcase. He also put up his first USPHL game-winner on Nov. 23 against the Montreal Black Vees. He played last season with the Jr. Comets’ 18U team in the Tier 1 Hockey Federation.
Defense: Trevor Belak, Northern Cyclones
A recent NCAA commit to Wilkes University, Belak (‘04/Pittsburgh, Pa.) showed what he can bring to his college hockey future by producing two goals and three assists for five points. The Cyclones played in three games at the IHC Showcase and finished 2-1-0-0. A member of the 2023 USPHL Premier National Championship team, Belak now has 21 points in 18 games this season and 59 points in 82 regular season games.
Goaltender: Thomas Cafarelli, Islanders Hockey Club
Cafarelli (‘06/Portland, Ore.) was lights-out for the host Islanders Hockey Club at the IHC Showcase, shutting down changes to the opponents’ opening score on the scoreboard twice. He registered shutouts against both the Hawkesbury Knights (23 saves) and Utica Jr. Comets (35 saves). He now has a 4-0 record with a .991 save percentage and three total shutouts.
Canada Division
Forward: Charles Martel, College Universel Gatineau
Martel (‘07/Ste-Anne-de-Sorel, Que.) put up three goals and one assist for four points to lead his team during the IHC Showcase. With the four-point weekend in Massachusetts, Martel improved to 16 points in 22 games.
Defense: Donovan Zion Thornhill, Kingston Wranglers
Thornhill (‘06/Whitby, Ont.) put up three assists in the Wranglers’ run at the USPHL Detroit Showcase, registering his first multi-point game against the Metro Jets Development Program (MJDP), a regular at the USPHL Nationals the past few seasons.
Goaltender: William St. Denis, Montreal Black Vees
St. Denis (‘04/St-Joseph-du-Lac, Que.) stopped 60 of 65 shots during his two appearances at the IHC Showcase, registering a .923 save percentage. This included making 32 saves on 34 shots in a win against the Thunder Hockey Club, which was St. Denis’ sixth victory in a row. He is currently 6-5-0-0 on the season.
Selection Process: Divisional statistical leaders are presented to coaches, who are able to vote on the leaders, or nominate and vote on alternate candidates.
